Research Team Led by Professor Zhang Quan from Yangzhou University Publishes Research Paper in Nature Communications

Recently, a research team led by Professor Zhang Quan from the College of Veterinary Medicine at our university published a research paper titled “Helicobacter hepaticus promotes hepatic steatosis through CdtB-induced mitochondrial stress and lipid metabolism reprogramming” in the journal Nature Communications. This study elucidates for the first time the molecular mechanism by which Helicobacter hepaticus promotes the occurrence and development of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) by inducing mitochondrial dysfunction and lipid metabolism reprogramming through its secreted Cytolethal Distending Toxin B (CdtB).
